When it comes to barbecue, it’s either undeniably and gloriously the real thing, or it’s not. Smokesmith Bar-B-Que in Sandpoint, Idaho, is operated by owner/pitmaster Sean Smith, who honors the age-old tradition of slow-smoking meats to create a mouthwatering symphony of flavor. He specializes in brisket, handmade sausage, pulled pork, and ribs.
 
Sean created Smokesmith Bar-B-Que out of a passion for simple, hardwood smoked meat. He craved a dark bark on his brisket, the perfectly pink smoke ring in that juicy pork butt, and the sweet smell of hardwood smoke from his custom-built smokers. What he craved, he created. 
 
Sean started rolling smoke in his neighborhood and would invite friends, family, and neighbors to taste his creations. What was created as a pastime then became full time. Sean and his wife, Katie, opened Smokesmith Bar-B-Que to the public in the summer of 2020 operating out of a 21 foot white box truck they built into a food truck.  
 
You can find him doing things the old-fashioned way, bartering smoked meats for local hardwood and fruitwood to fuel the smokers and help them grow their community along the way.
